Disclosure before you read a word of this: we are one of the four options on this page. We sell done-for-you websites to pressure washing contractors. We have tried to write the version of this comparison we would want to read if we were shopping, which means telling you plainly when one of the other three is the better fit.
A note on numbers. We do not quote other companies' prices on these pages, because their plans change and a stale price would mislead you. What we describe is how each model works, checked against each vendor's own documentation in August 2026, with links out so you can get the current price from the source.

THE HONEST SUMMARY
Stage first
The right option depends less on which is best and more on where your business is right now. Pre-revenue means build it yourself. Steady work and no time means buy it done. Genuinely custom needs means hire a developer.

Structural comparison reviewed August 2026. "Done-for-you" describes our own service, so weigh that column accordingly. Agency behaviour varies by firm, so treat it as typical rather than universal.
How to pick, in three questions
1. Is money or time your tighter constraint? If money, build it yourself and accept the weekends. If time, buy it done and accept the cost. Almost every contractor knows the honest answer immediately.
2. Does your site need to do anything unusual? Live booking with crew availability, a customer portal, franchise locations, or a real integration with your field software all mean hiring a developer or agency. If your site needs to show the work, cover your towns, and take a quote request, it does not need custom development.
3. Have you already started and stalled? If a half-built site is sitting in an account right now, that is the most useful data point you have. The next attempt usually ends the same way.
The detailed comparisons
Each of these goes deep on one option, with the three-year math and the honest downsides.
- Done-for-you vs Wix. The most popular DIY builder, compared on real three-year cost, what Wix does well, and where it gets hard for a local contractor.
- Done-for-you vs Squarespace. The best looking DIY option. Why design-led templates and lead-led contractor sites pull in different directions.
- Done-for-you vs a web design agency. What several thousand dollars actually buys, when an agency is genuinely worth it, and the six questions to ask before signing.
- Done-for-you vs building it yourself. The hours nobody counts, where they actually go, and the half-finished site problem that costs more than either option.

What matters more than any of this
We would rather you take this part seriously than buy from us. Whichever option you choose, these three do more for your phone than any decision on this page.
- Complete your Google Business Profile properly. Every service, real photos, correct hours, accurate service area. For most local contractors this is the single biggest source of calls.
- Get real reviews, continuously. Not a burst of five and then nothing. A steady trickle is what separates the contractor people call from the one they scroll past.
- Make the phone number tappable and obvious on mobile. Most of your visitors are standing in a driveway on a phone. If calling takes more than one tap, you are losing jobs to whoever made it easier.
A plain website plus those three beats a beautiful website without them, every time.
Common questions
What is the best website option for a pressure washing business?
There is no single best. If you are pre-revenue and have free evenings, build it yourself. If you want it handled for you and you want to own the result, a done-for-you specialist fits. If you need custom functionality like live booking or a customer portal, hire an agency. The most common mistake is buying more website than the stage of your business needs.
How much should a pressure washing website cost?
It ranges from a monthly builder subscription if you build it yourself, to a build fee of a few hundred plus a small monthly care plan for a done-for-you specialist, to several thousand plus a care plan for a custom agency project. What matters more than the headline number is how big the recurring part is, what it actually buys, and whether the site is yours if you leave.
Do I need a website if I have a Google Business Profile?
A complete Google Business Profile with real reviews will get you calls on its own, and at the very start it will out-earn a website. It also caps out. A website is where you prove the work with photos, cover the towns you serve, and answer the questions that turn a price shopper into a booked job.
Should I pay monthly or one time for a website?
A pure one time website is mostly a myth, because somebody always pays for hosting, SSL, backups, security updates and the domain. The real questions are how big the recurring number is, what it actually buys, and who owns the site when you stop paying. A big monthly fee only makes sense when someone is doing real new work every month, like managing ads or publishing new pages. A small one that covers real maintenance, with the site, domain, content and code staying yours, is the honest version of owning it.
